Mike Nolan
Carrie Hay Carrie grew up playing soccer in the Lower Valley Youth Soccer Association in the late '70s and early '80s. At that time in a small town the girls played with the boys 11 v 11 on a big field no matter the age! There were no options to continue her soccer past elementary school so she participated in basketball, softball, and volleyball throughout middle school and high school. She took up soccer again on an intramural basis and also took a soccer course while at WSU. She also played on the WSU Rugby team, played competitive women's softball, and refereed high school volleyball. While student teaching at Hanford High School in 1993 she was an assistant coach for varsity girls basketball and softball. Over the years Carrie has also coached youth softball and basketball.
In 1999, Carrie began coaching a TCYSA girls soccer team in Kennewick at the U8 level. She stayed with this team until it disbanded after U11. In 2004 she began coaching her oldest daughter's TCYSA Richland team and continued with them until her daughter moved to Three Rivers in 2007. She also coached 4 & 5 year-old YMCA soccer in 2005. This is Carrie's first soccer coaching job at the competitive level, but she has a strong background of competing and coaching many sports at various levels. |
